    • This long platform, almost 300 meters long along the west edge of the Royal Square, was used as a viewing place for the royal party and dignitaries to watch public spectacles and processions. The huge reliefs of elephants carved along the walls give it its present name, although there are also reliefs of Garudas, Apsaras, and other mythical creatures. The stepped platform is accessed by stairways, flanked by guardian lions, which project into the Royal Square.
