- The object depicted measures 1.7 kilometers long
- Information about the creation of the object depicted in the image: 1903
- Paul Doumer, the Governor-General of Indochina, commissioned the building of this bridge in 1903, providing an important link to Haiphong and the north. It was first hit by a United States air attackon August 11, 1967, and one bomb took out the central span of the bridge. The bridge has never been fully restored and remains a memorial to both the French colonial period and Vietnam's struggles and losses during the Vietnam War.
