- Amado Nervo (August 27, 1870 - May 24, 1919) was a Mexican poet and prose writer, who belonged to the Modernism movement. He is also noted for his novels and essays. He had a close friendship with Rubén Darío.
- This piece begins with the sentence "La tortuga de oro camina por...," this poem is probably known with the same title (La tortuga de oro).
