The tuberculosis surveillance report provides data regarding TB rates in Maricopa County. Maricopa County Department of Public Health, Clinical Services Division, provides direct patient care for TB cases within Maricopa County.

The information presented in this report includes data collected from Maricopa County residents during telephone survey interviews conducted by ADHS. Arizona residents from other counties were not included.
The Maricopa County Department of Public Health and the Maricopa County Department of Environmental Services work closely to educate and protect the residents of Maricopa County against West Nile Virus.

The year 2002 marked the largest outbreak to date in the world as the virus rapidly spread across the U.S. Maricopa County has been spared the burden of widespread WNV-illness thus far, however the area is home to a viable mosquito population, many species of migratory birds and a large human populace with a propensity for outdoor activities making arrival of the virus inevitable and advanced preparations invaluable.

The primary need for these realignments is due to the planned airport expansion at Tucson International Airport. The purpose of this report is to compare various alignment alternatives for the realignment on the basis of access, cost, right-of-way, and floodplain impacts.
The Arizona Department of Housing provides housing and community revitalization to benefit the people of Arizona by addressing unique and changing housing needs in this state. The Department is working toward sustaining current initiatives and simultaneously maintaining the flexibility to respond to new demands for affordable housing.
The federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program was established to encourage construction and rehabilitation of low-income rental housing. The Qualified Allocation Plan describes the purposes and requirements for this program.
The objective of the State of Arizona's non-entitlement Community Development Block Grant Program is to further the development of viable urban and rural communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.

There are two distinct components to the economic development activities described in ADOH’s LIHTC program details. The first component is activity that strengthens the economy. This is the quantifiable activity that is the subject of this report. The second component is community building activity which can be both quantitative and qualitative. This is an area that should be considered in the debate but which is not addressed within this report.
