The Arizona Corporation Commission was established in the Arizona Constitution in 1912. The Commission oversees the public utilities, the process of incorporating or registering a company to do business in the state, registers and oversees securities offerings and dealers, and enforces railroad and pipeline safety.
The spread of invasive species creates serious environmental problems as well as economic hazards for residents and will hamper implementation of parts of the SDCP.
To facilitate development of the Environmental Impact Statement which mus accompany the Section 10 multi-species conservation proposal, a series of issue papers is being published. This paper discusses utility rights-of-way in the context of the alternatives being considered to date.

An assessment of the problems that are presented by non-native and introduced species in maintaining native species and natural systems. Divided into two major sections, the study covers representative ecosystems in Pima County as well as representative species that have a negative impact on native species.
A companion to the study issued on July 5, 2000 entitled 'Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl Investigations in Pima County.' The major objective was to determine whether pygmy-owls chose nest sites or perch trees with characteristics that differ from other available sites within a nesting territory.
Four adjacent ranges define the western edge of the Avra and Altar valleys. Even though desert ironwood has dark green, lush foliage much of the year, this tree is almost exclusively a Sonoran Desert species. The same is true of the distribution of saguaros, foothill palo verdes, fishhook barrel cacti, and most of the hundreds of other plants growing here. These rugged ranges also provide natural refuges for a variety of wildlife, including desert bighorn and migratory pollinators. In addition to the biological resources, the area has abundant rock art sites and other archaeological sites.
Provides a brief summary of a compilation of resource investigations that have been submitted so far, to help develop the SDCP within the watershed planning area of the Avra Valley. The report also includes a number of proposals related to the Ironwood Preserve.
