The Arizona Corporation Commission was established in the Arizona Constitution in 1912. The Commission oversees the public utilities, the process of incorporating or registering a company to do business in the state, registers and oversees securities offerings and dealers, and enforces railroad and pipeline safety.
In an effort to educate older adults we have created this tool kit. Seniors are at risk to become victims of theft, fraud, and are particularly vulnerable to scams. This kit will help you have the tools needed to be well-informed because you could encounter a scam on the phone, through the mail, via computer or even when someone you do not know knocks on your door with an offer that may be too good to be true.
A Fraud Fighter Account lets you choose from several security options to better protect your money. These provisions can help protect you from becoming a victim of high-pressure sales, financial scams, overreaching by caregivers and family members or identity theft. The options include:
• Setting fixed limits on daily and monthly withdrawals from your checking or savings accounts.
• Notifying you and/or a trusted third party before suspicious transactions are processed.
• Limiting or preventing electronic access to your accounts.
