The Team Nutrition Grant Project began in 2003 with the goal to guide and assist schools to create and maintain a coordinated, comprehensive school health program. This can be accomplished if every student with asthma has a care plan and an emergency plan on file and it is updated annually. Additionally, we hope that these guidelines will help to identify students with poorly controlled asthma, so that parents can be encouraged to follow-up with the student’s primary care physician or other health care provider.
