The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 requires that each state submit an annual performance report that reflects the state's progress toward the goals established in the State Performance Plan submitted to the U.S. Department of Education in December 2005.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 requires that all States develop and submit to the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs a performance plan designed to advance the State from its current level of compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements of the law and to improve the educational and functional outcomes for children with disabilities.
Parent Information Network specialists provide essential information for parents to actively participate in their child's special education. They offer training and resources to educators, college students, service providers, community agencies, and parent organizations. They assist parents and community partners to understand the special education process and related issues.
