Pavements represent one of the largest capital investments in Arizona’s aviation system. Timely airport pavement maintenance and rehabilitation are crucial because repairs are much more costly once the condition deteriorates below a certain level. Additionally, airport pavement weaknesses, such as cracks and loose debris, pose a significant safety risk to aircraft.
Landscaping planted after January 1, 1987 within publicly owned rights-of-way and irrigated with groundwater may be planted only with plants listed on the ADWR Low Water Use/ Drought Tolerant Plant List for the Tucson AMA. The director may waive this requirement under special circumstances. This list can also be used as a resource for residents and businesses that are interested in conserving water. The list provides a wide array of plants to accomplish a variety of low wateruse landscape designs.
The list was compiled by the Department of Water Resources in cooperation with the Landscape Technical committee of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, comprised of experts from the Desert Botanical Garden, the Arizona Department of Transportation and various municipal, nursery and landscape specialists. Individuals wishing to add or delete plants from the list may submit information to the Director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources for consideration.
The Cochise County Airport is playing an increasing role in the promotion and development of the City of Willcox and the Cochise County area. The master plan has a capital improvement program that responds to the needs and desires for the short and long term aviation forecasts for Cochise County.
The Chandler Airpark area encompasses nine square miles surrounding the Chandler Municipal Airport. The area plan provides the City of Chandler with a document that will strategically guide future development in and around the existing airport. The two major goals of this plan are the protection of the Municipal Airport from residential encroachment and the aggressive economic development of the Airpark area.
Within the Prescott AMA, all plants irrigated with groundwater within any publicly owned right-of-way of a highway, street, road, sidewalk, curb or shoulder which is used for travel in any ordinary mode, including pedestrian travel, may be used only if the plants are listed on the ADWR Low Water Use Plant List. The director may waive this requirement under special circumstances. This list can also be used as a resource for residents and businesses that are interested in conserving water through low-water-use landscaping.

An update to the 1998 Chandler Municipal Airport master plan to make it meet current Federal Aviation Administration and Arizona Department of Transportation requirements as well as anticipated needs of Chandler residents and businesses.
This update of the Eric Marcus Municipal Airport Master Plan has been undertaken to evaluate the airport’s capabilities and role, to review forecasts of future aviation demand, and to plan for the timely development of new or expanded facilities that may be required to meet that demand. The ultimate goal of the master plan is to provide systematic guidelines for the airport’s overall development, operation, and ownership.
