The preparation of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community Community 2010 Long Range Transportation Plan was funded by the Arizona Department of Transportation Multimodal Planning Division’s Planning Assistance for Rural Areas program.
The study was developed by Gila County cooperatively with the Arizona Department of Transportation, Central Arizona Association of Governments, and the Tonto National Forest. In addition, area residents’ and stakeholder input was solicited and incorporated in the study through public participation efforts. The purpose of the study has been to develop a 20-year transportation plan and implementation program to guide Gila County in meeting transportation needs into the future. Roadway and multimodal improvements were identified to address deficiencies and needs to improve mobility and safety in the County. The study also identified how and when these improvements should be implemented and funded. This long-range multimodal transportation plan is intended for use in day-to-day programming and funding of transportation improvements. In addition, transportation improvements have been prioritized to maximize project benefits within budget limitations.
Kachina Village is an unincorporated community in Coconino County, Arizona. Kachina Village is located approximately six miles south of Flagstaff, Arizona. The Kachina Village Multimodal Transportation Study presents improvement recommendations that upon implementation will improve bicycle, pedestrian, and public transportation in the community.
The Arizona Statewide Transportation Improvement Program identifies statewide priorities for transportation projects. It is a compilation of projects utilizing various federal funding programs and includes highway projects on the cities, counties, and state highway systems, as well as projects in the National Parks, US Forest Service, and Indian Reservation Roads. This is a four-year project list compiled in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Council of Governments, and the Metropolitan Planning Organizations. Projects are selected for inclusion in the STIP based on adopted procedures and criteria.
An update to the Flagstaff Regional Plan 2030 (FRP30), to bring its Road Network Illustration (Map 25) into compliance with Arizona Revised Statute requirements and to resolve inconsistencies between Map 25 and parts of the Flagstaff City Code. This update does not alter the intent of FRP30; it is only concerned with correcting errors, removing legal vulnerability, and improving the readability of FRP30.
The State Highway System includes 6,801 route miles of roadway and of this about 88% of the system's roadways are situated within rural areas with the remainder in urban areas. The System also includes 1,324 miles or 20% that traverse Native Nation/Tribal lands. In addition, there are 20 airports maintained and operated by the Native Nation/Tribal Governments.
The Southern Greenlee County Trails Study identified a framework of trails that could be developed to attract modern-day adventurers and naturalists to explore the rich natural and cultural heritage of Greenlee County. The study identifies trails that Greenlee County residents can use for recreation, enabling them to engage in healthy life choices with limited bike-car or pedestrian-car conflicts. Long dependent on mining as its economic base, this trails plan is another step Greenlee County is taking to diversify its economy by increasing tourism.
The Planning and Environmental Linkage process seeks to develop subarea and corridor studies. This document has been developed to provide guidance, particularly to transportation planners and environmental planners, regarding how to most effectively link the transportation planning and National Environmental Policy processes.
The State Management Plan documents the procedures of the State of Arizona in managing and utilizing federal funds to assist public, Tribal, private for-profit, and private non-profit passenger transportation systems in Arizona. This document updates the 2007 plan and includes the State’s objectives, policies, procedures, and administrative requirements, in a form that is readily accessible to ADOT staff, the Federal Transit Administration, potential subrecipients, and the public.
This circulation study has developed transportation improvements for all transportation modes including automobile, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian transportation. Although bicycle and equestrian travel is not common on the East Reservation, projects were developed to encourage future use of these modes of travel.
