The study details the direct and indirect impacts of roads on natural resources, including direct mortality and loss of habitat, physical changes to the topography and hydrology of an area, impacts to habitat, noise, light and other types of pollution, and habitat fragmentation.
The Adaptive Management workshop proceedings continue the series that is underway to support the development of the Ranch Conservation Element. The verbatim proceedings and materials from the workshop are included.
Describes some of the highlights of the approach by the Science Technical Advisory Team during the study of the last three years and brings emphasis to a few of the simple guiding principles that might not have been noted during the last years of research and reporting.
A great deal of additional information is now available regarding the area designated as containing biological resources as indicated on the "purple map" attached to the March 19, 2001 report. The Science Technical Advisory Team has worked on differentiating the resources within this area and assigning biological resource values to refine the SDCP and allow informed judgements regarding future uses of lands within the areas of biological sensitivity.
Updates and enhances the July 1998 study which found upon review of 35 county government programs in high growth regions that Pima County generally had lower expenditures per capita and limited impact fee and affordable housing measures, compared to jurisdictions with similar pressures. This study provides a summary of the recent data and an analysis of how Pima County compares in the areas of expenditues, impact fees, and affordable housing programs in counties in Florida, California, and other Western States.
