The purpose of this study is to provide flood and erosion hazard information for Soldier Canyon Wash for use by the District in floodplain use permitting and and floodplain management.
The Commission was created in 2003. Each report briefly outlines the activities of the past year and the projects for the coming year.
This study identifies the drainage and flooding hazards within the watershed and develops alternatives to address those hazards. It is a comprehensive study that estimates flood and erosion potential, maps watercourses, identifies existing and potential problems and develops preliminary solutions and standards for sound floodplain and stormwater management.
These studies was performed to provide drainage, flood, and erosion hazard information for Hacienda del Sol Wash and an unnamed wash running along Hacienda del Sol Road. Topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses were performed to determine drainage conditions.
The objective of this Technical Data Notebook is to provide 100-yr peak discharges at a Concentration Point for the Unnamed 02 and 03 Washes, 100-yr floodplain boundary and erosion hazard information, using the most up-to-date topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic data. Pima County is blessed with a rich and varying record of human settlement over the 11,000 years representing prehistoric, Spanish Colonial, and Mexican-American influences in our history. The County's archaeological site is the building of structure with traditional cultural values and historic landscapes are all nonrenewable cultural resources.
Millstone Manor #6 is a subdivision that was recorded in the mid-1950's. All records indicate no engineering took place with regards to potential for drainage improvements. This report will address what the natural floodprone areas are and will recommend how future permits should be processed.
The Sutherland Valley is a broad, geologically-controlled floodplain. This study attempts to quantify the depth and extent of flooding so that floodplain permits can be issued for development which meets local and federal restrictions.
The purpose of this study is to provide uniformity in how building permits are processed and development is regulated within sheet flood areas in order to ensure that improvements are adequately protected from flood hazards.
This study was prepared to provide a drainage condition for Tanuri Wash. Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses were conducted. A floodplain map was created based on the hydraulic analysis.
