During the planning process for the SDCP, concerns were raised regarding loss of property tax revenue as well as adverse tax base impacts of Pima County purchasing parcels for open space. This report assesses impacts in two ways. First, the net assessed values of the open space parcels before purchase are compared to the sum of the net assessed values of all parcels in Pima County and in each applicable school district. Second, the property taxes assessed by Pima County and applicable school districts on each open space parcel before purchase is compared to the sum of the property taxes assessed on all parcels within Pima County and applicable school districts.
Pima Association of Governments has worked with County staff for over two years on a series of riparian and water resource studies related to the SDCP and Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The three studies found within this document represent the final versions of (1) Water Quality in Pima County; (2) Water Quality of Priority Streams in Pima County; and (3) Water Quality Requirements of Native Aquatic Species in Pima County.

A preliminary analysis that has been drafted in conjunction with participating federal agencies. Land managing entities provided information and later a detailed review of fact sheets that summarize each reserve in terms of its size, ownership, authorizing documents, land use activities, priority vulnerable species, exotic and non-native species, baseline information, GAP status, acquisitions, management plans, research, monitoring and recovery programs. The study proposes eight Reserve Management Areas that include land managers who could work together across administrative boundaries.
A fascinating and detailed look at sixteen communities in Pima County that experienced the boom and bust of the mining industry since the 1800s. Conveyed from a cultural historian's perspective, the stories of these communities are told with a goal of promoting preservation of the remnant railroads, schools, post offices, hotels, saloons, and other artifacts from this chapter of our history in Pima County.

Describes some of the highlights of the approach by the Science Technical Advisory Team during the study of the last three years and brings emphasis to a few of the simple guiding principles that might not have been noted during the last years of research and reporting.
Compiles water quality data for the streams that have been identified as priorities and assesses land uses and potential pollution sources that might impact the water quality of the highest priority aquatic habitats.
Provides a rational basis for (1) a cost of growth element to require development to pay a fair share of public facility costs, and (2) to plan for and regulate infrastructure service area boundaries beyond which the County may limit or prescribe conditions on the publicly financed extension of improvements.
