The Drug Treatment Alternative to Prison (DTAP) Program enables drug addicted criminal defendants to plead guilty to an offense and then enter a residential, therapeutic community treatment system for three years as an alternative to a prison sentence. The Program begins with three months of in-patient, residential drug treatment followed by wraparound recovery support services managed by a resources specialist, including transitional housing, literacy services, higher education, job training and placement services, and counseling, accompanied by drug testing, probation monitoring, and regular court hearings.
The primary need for these realignments is due to the planned airport expansion at Tucson International Airport. The purpose of this report is to compare various alignment alternatives for the realignment on the basis of access, cost, right-of-way, and floodplain impacts.
This report was drafted to facilitate discussion about protection of cultural resources under the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. The first part of the report provides an overview of historic preservation in Pima County, while the second part provides analysis and recommendations for improving Pima County's historic preservation policy.
The purpose of this study is to (1) develop a fundamental understanding of the problems that exist, and (2) perform a cursory examination of possible management approaches identifying those that appear most plausible for further consideration.
This floodplain study was prepared to identify the extent and magnitude of flooding within the boundary of the park under existing conditions. This Technical Data notebook has been prepared for a Letter of Map Revision application for a portion of the Via Entrada Wash located in Pima County, Arizona. The objective of the TDN and LOMR submission is provide regulatory discharge rates and floodplain limits along the Via Entrada Wash using better topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic data.

The concepts will assist in future planning and implementation discussions that take place as the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan is finalized. A purchase of development rights program could assist in the funding of open space lands that contribute to the overall conservation reserve.
By including ranch lands as a landscape form worthy of protection and preservation, Pima County formalized its commitment to keep ranchers ranching as a way of achieving multiple community goals, including conserving natural and cultural resources, preserving open spaces, and defining urban form.
Some of Arizonans’ most common and destructive illnesses—those of the brain—are failing to receive adequate treatment due to a combination of modern governmental gridlock and a centuries-old philosophy that separates the mind from the body.
Severe and widespread budget cuts in behavioral health and substance abuse services for lower-income Arizonans who don’t qualify for AHCCCS have already taken effect across the state. Even before these cuts were implemented, it was clear that the publicly-supported behavioral health system in our state was not adequately serving many Arizonans who needed mental health or substance use disorder treatment. This paper represents an effort by Arizona State University’s Centers for Applied Behavioral Health Policy and the Morrison Institute for Public Policy to promote and enrich Arizona’s public dialogue about these problems and potential solutions.
