This report is intended to provide useful information about the condition of the State Highway System in a format that is readily accessible to transportation professionals and non-professionals. This report was produced by the Planning Team of the Transportation Planning Division.
Volume I: Facts
Analyses of Arizona state government finance, using data of the Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee, and of the combined finances of all state and local governments within Arizona, using data of the U.S. Census Bureau. A historical perspective is provided for both datasets. For combined state and local government finance, comparisons are made to other states and to the national average. In addition, other measures of the tax burden by state are examined.
Volume II: Concepts and Issues
Addresses the conceptual and empirical relationships between taxes, government revenue, and economic growth. Also discusses current issues specific to Arizona state government finance. This is a revised version of the report "Tax Reductions, the Economy, and the Deficit in the Arizona State Government General Fund," incorporating new and updated material.
Volume III: Options for Managing the Arizona State General Fund
Presents options and offers recommendations for managing the Arizona state government general fund. The near-term budget deficit is addressed as well as ways to prevent budget deficits from recurring every time economic growth slows.
The five-year construction program is a budget of what Arizona expects to receive in funds from various sources and how it proposes to spend them project by project. The highways and airport programs will result in a better quality of life for all citizens.
The annual ADOA Building System Capital Improvement Plan, reviews agency capital requests, and submits recommendations to the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee.
This report is prepared on a cash basis and reflects the financial transactions of the State of Arizona, as well as the financial condition of the State.
The purpose of the Program is to set forth the plan for developing projects and account for the spending funds for the next five years. All projects in the first two years of the program will be fully funded and ready to advertise within the year programmed or sooner as determined by the State Transportation Board. The last three years of the program will be illustrative in nature and be used to establish an implementation plan for projects moving through the various preparation phases needed prior to the construction of the project.

One in a series of long-range transportation planning studies being conducted by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation to assess the ultimate corridor footprint requirements to enable consistent implementation across multiple jurisdictions. The study area for this project includes Peoria Avenue from the future Jackrabbit Trail Parkway alignment to Dysart Road (Peoria Avenue Corridor). The study area generally encompasses a two-mile wide corridor centered on the existing Peoria Avenue.
This report describes a series of full-scale vehicular crash tests conducted to evaluate the impact performance of small sign supports used by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The tests were conducted and evaluated in accordance with the recommendations of NCHRP Report 230 and the 1985 AASHTO "Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic Signals."
