Groundwater resources of the Prescott AMA continue to be depleted on a regional basis, resulting in decreased groundwater storage in the aquifers of the area. In addition, natural groundwater discharge from the area has decreased with potential impacts on riparian areas and downstream users.
Includes the information needed to draft the Water Resources Element and also describes the options that Pima County has to deal with water supply issues in light of the need to protect riparian and wetland areas under the SDCP.

This is the first study to be issued as part of the Water Resources Element and identifies a number of measures that can be taken to conserve water, including measures that can be taken by Pima County in the form of ordinance adoption.
Provides basic information about the source of surface water in Cienega Creek at the downstream end of the natural preserve, which will contribute to efforts to conceptualize and implement effective land management proposals for the SDCP. Study results indicate that the surface flow or subflow from Agua Verde Creek do not significantly influence the water in the Cienega Creek.
To facilitate development of the Environmental Impact Statement which must accompany the Section 10 multi-species conservation proposal, a series of issue papers is being published. This study discusses water resources in the context of the alternatives being considered to date.
