The Floodplain Management Act of 1973 authorized Arizona counties to adopt rules and regulations concerning management of floodplain areas. The Pima County Board of Supervisors, which sits as the Pima County Flood Control District Board of Directors, organized the Pima County Flood Control District on June 5, 1978. The District is responsible for floodplain management activities for unincorporated areas in Pima County (with the exception of national forests, parks, monuments, and Indian Nations) and for the City of South Tucson.
In about 60% of the cases sentenced in Pima County, the offender will be placed on supervised probation for an average of three years. Protection of the community is always the primary consideration when determining a supervision program. To ensure long-term protection requires motivating the offender to change those factors that contributed to criminal behavior. Based on empirical research conducted by social scientists, certain dynamic factors are common to offenders and are targets for change.
The Arizona Superior Court in Pima County is the second largest superior court in the state. By statute, the court is entitled to the appointment of one judicial officer for each 30,000 persons living within the jurisdiction of the court.
These studies was performed to provide drainage, flood, and erosion hazard information for Hacienda del Sol Wash and an unnamed wash running along Hacienda del Sol Road. Topographic, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses were performed to determine drainage conditions.

The result of an application to the Arizona Department of Transportation Planning Assistance for Rural Areas (PARA) Program to conduct a multimodal transportation study to address transportation issues in the community. The purpose of the study is to identify the most critical multimodal transportation infrastructure and service needs within the Picture Rocks study area and recommend a program of short-range (0-5 years), mid-range (6-10 years), and long-range (11-20 years) improvements.
For more than a year, a team of consultants, led by Poster Frost Associates, worked with the Pima County Board of Supervisors, Pima County staff, the Canoa Ranch Community Trust and Oversight Committee, and local stakeholders to develop a Master Plan for the Historic Canoa Ranch. Since purchasing the 4,800 acre Canoa Ranch, south of Green Valley, in 2001, Pima County has embarked on a number of projects at the ranch to preserve and protect the valuable natural and cultural resources. The preservation and restoration of historic buildings were completed in early 2013, and efforts to protect important habitat and restore natural systems continue today. The Master Plan represents an important milestone towards the goal of making the Canoa Ranch a public site where its rich history can be understood and appreciated by visitors.
