The Office of Administrative Hearings commenced operation on January 1, 1996. Administrative hearings previously provided by regulatory agencies (except those specifically exempted) were transferred to the Office for independent proceedings. Our statutory mandate is to “ensure that the public receives fair and independent administrative hearings.”
