The State of the System Report is a compilation of the physical inventory and status of the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s infrastructure. It addresses roadway congestion, traffic safety, low volume road paving, bridges, and pavement conditions. Also, included are recommendations for future improvements within each of the infrastructure categories. The SOS report has been produced annually since 1998.
The 20-year transportation plan includes roadway, transit, safety, and environmental and economic vitality elements to help meet the region's transportation goals of improving our safety and cross-town mobility, while reducing traffic congestion.
Arizona’s total value of international exports as a share of gross product was 33rd highest among the 50 states and District of Columbia in 2012. Arizona ranked 36th for manufactured goods. In 1997, Arizona had ranked eighth overall and ninth for manufactured goods. The state’s large relative decline in export share can be traced to its sizable relative decrease in its manufacturing sector. In particular, the electronics manufacturing subsector’s share of total GDP has dropped considerably.
The Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF), one of the primary sources of transportation funding, rapidly declined in available dollars at the end of the decade.
