The primary purpose of this study is to determine what transportation improvements would be needed to accommodate future growth and development of the Raytheon Missile Systems facility located south of Tucson International Airport on Hermans Road. A secondary purpose of this study is to consider longer-term roadway and transit improvements that will improve access to Tucson International Airport and associated airport property planned for future development. Specifically, the study analyzed the effects of closing Hughes Access Road/Alvernon Way to non-Raytheon traffic and recommends alternative roadway improvements that would be needed to accommodate this closure.

The purpose of this project is to provide regional managers and the public with updated comprehensive maps and accompanying datasets for GRD members within the TAMA in the context of its impact patterns on AWS. These datasets are available in raw format from PAG and also will be provided on the Pima County Map Guide Web site for interactive viewing. In the past, CAP also has used this report to address boundary reconciliation issues.

The Floodplain Management Act of 1973 authorized Arizona counties to adopt rules and regulations concerning management of floodplain areas. The Pima County Board of Supervisors, which sits as the Pima County Flood Control District Board of Directors, organized the Pima County Flood Control District on June 5, 1978. The District is responsible for floodplain management activities for unincorporated areas in Pima County (with the exception of national forests, parks, monuments, and Indian Nations) and for the City of South Tucson.

For more than a year, a team of consultants, led by Poster Frost Associates, worked with the Pima County Board of Supervisors, Pima County staff, the Canoa Ranch Community Trust and Oversight Committee, and local stakeholders to develop a Master Plan for the Historic Canoa Ranch. Since purchasing the 4,800 acre Canoa Ranch, south of Green Valley, in 2001, Pima County has embarked on a number of projects at the ranch to preserve and protect the valuable natural and cultural resources. The preservation and restoration of historic buildings were completed in early 2013, and efforts to protect important habitat and restore natural systems continue today. The Master Plan represents an important milestone towards the goal of making the Canoa Ranch a public site where its rich history can be understood and appreciated by visitors.

This Campaign Effectiveness Study, conducted for the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, was designed to evaluate the specific effectiveness of the 2013-2014 Clean Air and Clean Stormwater Program Campaigns. This project analyzed and tracked the overall effectiveness of the Clean Air Program after 24 campaign sessions. For the second consecutive year, the survey also measured and tracked attitudes, knowledge, awareness, and behaviors related to stormwater management for the Clean Stormwater Program Campaign.

This Campaign Effectiveness Travel Behavioral Study, conducted for the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, was designed to evaluate the specific effectiveness of the 2012-2013 Clean Air Campaign, as well as analyze the overall effectiveness of the air quality media campaign after 23 campaign sessions. New to the current study, the survey also measured baseline awareness/knowledge related to storm water and hazardous waste issues.

The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program has been in existence since the 1997 Pima County bond election established General Obligation Bond funding for construction of small scale capital improvement projects to be selected through a neighborhood consensus process. Specific projects are recommended by the citizen committees to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.

The Pinal Creek Trail corridor study is being conducted in conjunction with the Cobre Valley Comprehensive Transportation Study, to provide alternative modes of transportation to key educational and recreational areas in the Globe area. The purpose of the study is to review previous trail studies and recreation trail plans that will address the most critical current and future non-motorized modes of transportation within the study area. The concept of turning Pinal Creek, which runs through the City, into a functioning urban greenbelt, has long been the dream of several citizens of the community.

The Cobre Valley Comprehensive Transportation Study is a joint effort by the City of Globe, Town of Miami, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Gila County, and the Central Arizona Governments. The purpose of the study is to develop a long-range multimodal transportation plan that addresses the most critical current and future transportation needs of the Cobre Valley region. The study was funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s State Planning and Research Program and administered through ADOT’s Multimodal Planning Division.
