The purpose of the Long Mountain Area Plan is to recognize the unique character of the Long Mountain Area and to encourage land use patterns that are consistent with the goals of the Mohave County General Plan. The Long Mountain Area Plan, a component of the General Plan, covers approximately 61 square miles of unincorporated land in Mohave County.

In 1995, Mohave County adopted the “Mohave County General Plan” which included a countywide land use design. Included were several surrounding small communities. These communities subsequently created their own more specific area plans which were then included in the Mohave County General Plan. However, Dolan Springs was identified as an “outlying community” which would not be included. Dolan Springs then created their own area plan.

The State of the System Report is a compilation of the physical inventory and status of the Maricopa County Department of Transportation’s infrastructure. It addresses roadway congestion, traffic safety, low volume road paving, bridges, and pavement conditions. Also, included are recommendations for future improvements within each of the infrastructure categories. The SOS report has been produced annually since 1998.

Apache County is required by state law to prepare a comprehensive plan “to conserve the natural resources of the county, to insure efficient expenditure of public funds, and to promote the health, safety, convenience, and general welfare of the public.” The planning process is structured to emphasize public involvement and incorporate comments, ideas, and direction of the public into the plan. This plan strives to create strong and vibrant communities within Apache County by encouraging orderly development.
