Some of the richest helium-bearing gas in the world was produced in Arizona. Helium concentrations range from trace amounts up to ten percent in the Holbrook Basin and Four Corners. Both areas have good potential for additional discovery and production of helium. Includes metadata for the monthly, annual, and cumulative summary reports of oil, gas and helium production by Arizona drilling fields.

Community protection and preparedness is a critical step toward mitigating immediate fire hazards and restoring adjacent wildlands. A combination of fuel management, FireWise standards, and appropriate wildfire suppression response across ownerships within and adjacent to at-risk communities will reduce threats to life and property, protect values-at-risk, and create a safe context for the use of fire in subsequent forest ecosystem restoration efforts. This plan outlines actions needed to prepare and equip the community to live and thrive within our fire-adapted ponderosa pine forests.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of typical chemical winter maintenance practices on Arizona Department of Transportation pavements. A review of previous studies on the effect of deicing/anti‐icing chemicals did not yield definitive recommendations, especially for DIAICs typically used by ADOT. Researchers conducted a laboratory study evaluating the effects of magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and distilled water on eight different open‐graded rubber‐modified asphalt concrete mixes using the boiling test. All experimental factors were found to be statistically significant, and the researchers provide recommendations on which DIAICs should be used for different binder and aggregate types.

Land Use and Traffic Congestion is an investigation into the links among land use, travel behavior, and traffic congestion. Researchers focused on four transportation corridors in the Phoenix area: three older neighborhoods with relatively mixed, higher density land use, and one suburban area with lower density but high traffic volumes. The analysis suggested that the higher density corridors exhibited less congestion due to the greater mix of uses, shorter trip lengths, more travel by transit and non-motorized modes, and the presence of a secondary street grid system.

Beginning with the 1988 Doney Park Area Plan as a foundation, the Area Plan Committee took an in-depth look at how needs had changed in the ten years since that original Plan was written. After countless hours of discussion and debate, a formal survey of every resident in the planning area, and many public open houses, the Committee created a draft version of this plan, which was submitted to the public for comment. The final version was approved by the County Planning and Zoning Commission in May 2001, and by the County Board of Supervisors in June of that year. While this Plan does not replace the County Comprehensive Plan or Zoning Ordinance, it does provide additional information for decision-makers when faced with issues of growth and development in the Doney Park Timberline-Fernwood areas. Most especially what this Plan does is to represent what residents want to see for their area of the County.
