On the inside cover, left side, there is the following handwritten annotation: "Rubén Darío. Libro-Archivo de Obras Escogidas I. Rubén Darío" ("Rubén Darío. Book-Archive of Selected Works I. Rubén Darío").

On the inside cover, right side, there is the following handwritten annotation: "Así concluyo esta obra, para la posteridad... en especial para mi tierra amada: Nicaragua. Rubén Darío" ("In this way I finish this work, for posterity... especially for my beloved land: Nicaragua. Rubén Darío").

On the outside cover there is a picture of Rubén Darío with the next handwritten annotation: "Para Rosario Murillo; mi amada y siempre recordada garza morena, mi único y gran amor. Rubén Darío, Valparaíso, Enero, 1888" ("For Rosario Murillo; my beloved and always fondly remembered brunette heron, my only and great love. Rubén Darío, Valparaíso, Enero, 1888").

Rosario Murillo (1873 - ?) was Rubén Darío's second wife.
