短篇小說概要：約瑟芬娜·拿美斯·德·與也娜夫人是一個上流社會的貴婦，對宗教虔誠，然而她是一個寡婦，這是一個關於約瑟芬夫人生活的故事，來展現當時上流社會人，雖然有很多的財富，但是內心空虛，人與人之間除了流言蜚語，沒有真正的感情。

Story Summary:Josephine is a wealthy widow who takes religion very seriously. The story illustrates that even though she is rich and leads a life of luxury, she is empty inside – her social life is filled with gossip rather than real emotional connections.
