Arizona State and Local Government Documents Collection
The State and Local Arizona Documents (SALAD) collection contains documents published by the State of Arizona, its Counties, incorporated Cities or Towns, or affiliated Councils of Government; documents produced under the auspices of a state or local agency, board, commission or department, including reports made to these units; and Salt River Project, a licensed municipality. ASU is a primary collector of state publications and makes a concerted effort to acquire and catalog most materials published by state and local governmental agencies.

To facilitate discussion about which species might be considered for protection, a series of in-depth interviews were conducted with members of the local science community who have expertise in the areas of birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals, plants and plant communities, and reptiles and amphibians.
Compiles information on plants and animals that are already recognized by the federal government as imperiled species, species which have been extirpated, and a much larger number of species that are in decline either locally or nationally. Descriptions of status, location, distribution, and habitat needs are presented for each species proposed. The report also considers vegetative communities, their history of decline and modification, and recommends priorities for their protection.
The purpose of this report is to represent the different types of land stewardship in Pima County in a digital Geographic Information System cover and to update the evaluation of vegetative communities relative to these classes. A previous evaluation suggested that 24 percent of Pima County is in a reserve of some kind; the current evaluation now suggests 26.5 percent.
Identifies key potential threats and stressors to vulnerable species in Pima County, and to the biological and hydrological resources that support these species. Emphasis has been placed on identifying the specific components of past, existing, and proposed land and water uses that pose the greatest potential threats over the next 30 years to focal species and special habitats, plant associations, and communities.
A preliminary analysis that has been drafted in conjunction with participating federal agencies. Land managing entities provided information and later a detailed review of fact sheets that summarize each reserve in terms of its size, ownership, authorizing documents, land use activities, priority vulnerable species, exotic and non-native species, baseline information, GAP status, acquisitions, management plans, research, monitoring and recovery programs. The study proposes eight Reserve Management Areas that include land managers who could work together across administrative boundaries.
Chronicles some of the changes in the Pima County Zoning Code since 1953 and summarizes the comprehensive plan, the zoning code, and the building codes.
Summarizes applications placed in the newspaper and mailed directly to Steering Committee members to solicit Land Panel membership. 177 applications were received and compiled. Includes a suggested alternative for selecting Land Panel members.
Housing in Pima County, issue paper No. 1: land use element. The scope of this plan is to successfully integrate the Preliminary Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan and the Comprehensive Plan Update that would serve as both the cornerstone of conservation as well as land development. The land use element is a key feature of the update.
A draft baseline document that describes the trends in single family residential, multi-family, and mobile home uses over time. Includes a review of market trends and demographic information relevant to housing in Pima County.
Documents the representation of aspects of biodiversity within both the existing system of protected land and the biologically preferred alternative of the SDCP. It is necessary to think not only in terms of species, but also in terms of vegetation communities. Aspects of both were incorporated into the design of the SDCP. This study provides a detailed look at the twenty-one special element conservation targets that were considered by the Science Technical Advisory Team for the Plan.
